We are setting up our nursery using the Jungle theme, however we are now coming into difficulty as we need more ideas on what we can make or do to set it out. Thanks

Congrats! It's best to keep it simple and flexible, and storage-wise. You are really doing this more for yourselves (and that's not a bad thing) than the baby. Baby will not even know, and will notice mostly the mobile, and his toys. And your loving face.

Wall color -- Don't use pastel colors, and don't use bold colors. Choose a color shade that will grow with the baby. E.g. instead of baby blue, use a slightly grayer version of blue. No need for special paint techniques or wallpaper, unless you really feel you have to. You might also want to stick to light shades (not pastel though) of the primary colors..... to blend with all those toys that will inevitable take over, and that usually come in primary colors.

Walls -- Don't put in a permanent mural. Buy nice inexpensive posters with your theme, put on wall using removable double-sided tape. Then you can change the posters as baby grows. He will appreciate that more. Put in a ledge or two where you can display special pictures and special items.

Mobile -- Use Symphony in Motion Farm Animal Mobile or something similar made by Tiny Love, can't beat it, it can play for 15 minutes! That's a long time compared to any other! It may clash with your theme, but it's worth it! I would even build my theme around it... :-) That's how much I love it.

Put lightblocking window treatments. You could layer curtains, or install a lightblocking shade, with a jungle theme valance on top.

Crib -- This is usually the focal point of the room, so dress it up. BUT, please don't use quilts or comforters or heavy blankets, for safety's sake! It's true that our baby didn't sleep there for many months. But he did play there, and gurgle at our lovely mobile. :-)

Have fun!!

LOL 1st time parents eh? Do you honestly think your baby will even sleep in the nursery for the 1st year? Chances are your wife/partner will have the baby co-sleeping with your guys or you will end up on the couch.
Honestly, people spend too much money on unnessecary things. Do not bother buying a change table. Your bed or sofa is just as good a place as any. Decorate the room when the babies personality comes out. Do not waste your money doing it now. I know it is a romantic thing to do, but you really do not need to do it and you would be saving your money holding off.

By the way congratulations!

Getting back to the subject, i think you should paint the base colour on the wall black and then paint on lots of trees and animals (Elephants, Tigers, Giraffes, monkeys, butterflies, etc:) aswell. Then, paint the ceiling a dark shade of blue and get those glow in the dark stars and stick them on the ceiling with it. You can also get hammocks and in ikea, there are some very nice jungle animal toys for sale. You can also put down a green carpet to give the effect of grass.

Try looking at the Oriental Trading catalog for some ideas. They have all kind of jungle themed things and maybe you could get some ideas there. I know I ordered some inflatable jungle animals for my sons birthday from there and when we were done with the party we hung them from his ceiling with some clear fishing string. It was really cute.

Paint something on the wall you could also mix it up w/Noahs Ark and do the Boat w/all the animals.Monkeys, palm trees just keep it simple,he may want to change it in a few years, they don't stay babies forever. You don't even have to paint get crib set w/all the matching things to go w/it.

We did our baby sons room with a jungle theme. We bought some large jungle bedroom stickers from babycare direct, heres the link http://www.babycare-direct.co.uk/funtosee_2.html and we bought some large soft toys of animals from the Disney shop. We are really pleased with the room and I'm sure your little one will love a jungle themed room.

Congratulations!
Don't get me wrong, but Isis is so right. You're doing it for you, not for the baby.
Babies are babies. They need food, sleep and their parents. Nothing else.
It is recommended that babies spend their first 6 months in the same room as the parents.
So the cot will be in your room. Put a futon in the nursery for whomever gets the short straw....

don't go overboard with it. when i first found out that i was pregnant, i got on eBay and bought everything that went with this one certain set and then some. now i have a ton a Noah's ark stuff and he doesn't even look at it. nursery decorations are mostly for the adults.

Think you could paint a jungle mural on the wall? You can hang monkeys in toy hammeks (spelling sorry) Good luck!! Sounds really cool.

Keep your nursery simple.

As long as the baby is comfortable, that's ok.

Peace.
