My feeling is that it's because we tend to value looking quote-unquote "cool" (self-composed) over self-expression. This can be overcome, though, and by more than just alcohol. Remember the dancing scene from The Matrix: Reloaded? There were a few white people there who looked like they knew how to shake their groove thing.

Wrong!! I'm as white as snow and an excellent dancer. You just have to have rhythm. Most good dancers have danced for a long time and have practiced over and over. It doesn't make a bit of difference what skin tone you have. Its rhythm and practice that makes a person able to dance

LOL - I'm white and people actually pay to have me teach them how to move in my spare time. True, it's not exactly dancing. But it's an art form in it's own right. And you should see the perfection of balance, speed, power and timing in some of my students as they move through their forms!

You mean those crappy dances that people forget in a year? Have you watched any of those dancing shows on tv? Don't see many non whites winning.

Are you ashamed of your race? I am not a color. I am a person. I challenge you to stop defining yourself as a color and start defining your life as a person. All the dance moves in the world won't separate the men from the boys that ask stupid questions.
