I think its telling them its okay to have unprotected sex after all you can easily get the pill. I think its wrong and sending the wrong message. We should be promoting no sex until your old enough to deal with the consequences.

The question is not only a moral one but also one of informed consent and the question of whether a child of 17 is capable of making a decision that could adversely affect her health.

In addition to the physical consequences, which are pretty rough according to some reports, the psychological aspect would also be difficult. The "what if's" that a typical 17 year old carries would be compounded one hundred fold.

Personally, I don't believe a minor should recieve any medical care with consulting a parent or guardian

I think they have to be 18. I'm glad it's available. I hope it doesn't become a substitute for safe sex practices. The age limit seems a little silly- parents could easily buy it for kids too young to buy it on their own, but hopefully bringing it to parental attention can induce the kind of talk that might stop a teen from having unprotected sex.

i think its a sad situation where this is even an issue. however, i feel that over the counter night after birth control pills are better than a bunch of kids having kids. i'd rather them take care of it right away than have a bunch of babies they cant take care of. just my opinion.

It is horribly wrong!! It sends out the wrong message!! Our teens need to use a condom when having sex and now they won't bother. What about protection from std's and aids.....??? Sure get rid of the unwanted baby but risk your own life or your partners by not using protection. they will think "who cares use a morning after pill"

Its a good thing, I know alot of people probably feel that would be encouraging the kids and making it easier but I think that they are going to do it anyway at least let them be able to protect themselves if they have an accident.

If you are under 18 you are still a minor. If you can't buy alcohol or cigarettes, you shouldn't be able to buy the pill.
