they're calling it a "dwarf planet." WTF?

The international astronomy committe decided to change the definition of a planet and Pluto no longer fits the definition. I think the reason for this is because if they were to change the definition so it could remain a planet it would have included an asteroid and one of pluto's moons into the list of planets.

its not a planet under the finally arrived definition of planet. It never should have been considerd one in the first place. Some people don't like it, but they are attached to the name pluto i think. If you consider it a planet, then u have to consider hundreds of other things planets. The term "dwarf planet" was given to it so that some people wont get too mad. And you can take solace in the fact that it is still a world. So are lots of other worlds in our solar system. But there are lots of more interesting worlds out there that dont get to be planets, like saturns moons, and jupiters moons. Those places are awesome, and they are much bigger than pluto. Because the arent orbiting the sun, they arent planets. But they are exiting worlds.

I THINK SOME PEOPLE WHO STILL SAY IT IS A PLANET, EXPLAIN WHY THEY THINK THAT. WHAT MAKES IT A PLANET? ITS GOT AN ECCENTRIC ORBIT, SO ARE COMETS PLANETS?

Yes, Pluto has failed on the characterisitcs of what a planet should have. It's troublesome but it's true. It's weird to be used to the fact of having nine planets on our solar system and suddenly, it now has only 8 left. And it led me to a thinking what if what happened to Pluto can also happen to every other planet remaining?

there has been some debate about it, due to its size, and orbit, there are other things that go around the solar system that are bigger than Pluto, so they are saying if Pluto's a planet then so are they.

they are thinking of reclassifying it as a large asteroid, or something like that, as its not the same as any other planet, its really a big ball of ice

We have been lied to.
They told us that Pluto was a planet, and we based our whole foundation and moral being from what they taught us. Now they tell us that it isn't true and we were informed incorrectly!!!
What's next??? How can we belive anything that we learned was the truth??
What if 2 and 2 is really 3?
Do you know what that will do to my bank account, unless it's really 5 then I'm in good shape.

i don't know, but if Pluto has a atmosphere of any type, unlike our moon, then it should be a planet, that my definition, but i dont know if pluto has one or not.

But I can accept the Drawf statist, as long a planet is next to it, I mean think about it, there are human Drawfs, in fact TLC,and Discovery loves pointing that out (Shortest ppl, small world), but there still humans, nothing changed but the name
