what do you think, do you have kids?

No. Children without proper parenting get influenced by music & video games. Which came first the chicken or the egg? Without music & video games there would still be violence. Violence was around people so they chose to put it in their form of expression. If music & video games went away right now there would still be violence, etc. It seems some people take any chance they can get to blame someone else for parental shortcomings . . . (you may be surprised to know that I believe in the motto "it takes a village to raise a child", therefore, I do believe things should be censored for children's sake. I am worried about the children who don't have parents around to teach their children about the things they're seeing &/or hearing.)

I think parents need to be aware of what their children are doing and to talk to them and listen to them, to be a good role models....that has more of an impact on children then music & video games.

Blaming music & video games for children's problems is a cop-out.

In short no. Alot of people say that movies and games and music are responisible for childrens behavior. When Columbine happened, people fixated on the fact that the gunmen listened to Marilyn Manson.

When did this country start allowing people to pass the blame? It is, and has always been the sole responsibility of THE PARENTS to monitor what their children and buying, watching and listening to. The media does not create bad kids, nor does it encourage them.

If parents would step in, and educate their children, then they would not feel the need to blame artists or media for evrything wrong that happens. I listen to Marilyn Manson, hell I listen to rap music to, but Im not out shooting up schools or doing drive bys...why? Because my parents took the time to school me on what is right and what is wrong.

Parents have turned over their role of loving teacher to others. Read the lyrics of some of the songs, watch as children react to the violence in games, cartoons and TV programming. We need to turn off our TVs when children are home, read to them, play games with them and show your respect and love at all times.

I think that it sets a poor example for kids. The parents of those rappers and game designers ought to be ashamed at the influence that their children are creating.

everything influences our children except their parents ..television is desensitizing our young children..they think it's OK to murder someone..because they will return in the next episode...I can't put it any planer then that..I can remember long ago some kid jumped off his parents three-story house because he thought he was Superman...

Why? Please don't be like my mother... she went nuts just because I bought San Andreas on Xbox 360. She thought I was going to go out and steal cars and shoot people. What a load of bullshit.
