Why do people in Orange county think there is an advantage to giving 300 million dollars in tax incentives for a bio medical research lab. They will be paving over more of our precious greenspace. Bringing about three hundred good paying jobs and who knows how many low wage jobs. Three hundred million could pay for road improvements, pay for a good start on high-speed rail, not the low speed white elephant they want to stick us with now. That money could build a nice homeless center with treatment programs and job training facilities. It could be spent to hire some street cleaning crews, pay to beautify some areas like OBT between Colonial and the 408. It could be used to build permanant classrooms, and we could get rid of the portables.
There are many things that could make Orange County attractive to businesses and make them WANT to come here, instead of accepting a bribe to come here.

Biomedical research and gene therapy, specifically, are the future of medicine.

It's money well spent!

gee lets have great rail roads and forget helping a real humans you need to get more educated on what bio medical really is not to sound angry at you but the children are our future and it doesn't look good with kids being born from healthy non drug addict parents with add adhd and autism and etc.you must be blessed and don't carry that burden like other family's do.I have a friend who her husband and her work 3 jobs to pay for bio medical treatments for their autistic son who after 8 months of treatment is showing improvement, would you like to pay more taxes for schooling for these kids because the public school system does not have the resources these kids need don't judge someone in your family may walk in our shoes I'm a stay at home mom who gave up my career as an attorney I too pay taxes.and have an autistic child.

I think our country is getting wacky. It's just another way to spend money without helping anyone. If we put all of 'billions' of dollars this war is costing us into our own country, we might have some heath care and jobs for everyone.

Unfortunately, our country is run by big business - they don't care about Joe Schmoe anymore..... can you imagine picketing and demonstrating like we did in the 60s? We'd all be on trial for terrorism.... we are far away from "a government for the people BY the people"..... that's for sure.
