Why do people in Orange county think there is an advantage to giving 300 million dollars in tax incentives for a bio medical research lab. They will be paving over more of our precious greenspace. Bringing about three hundred good paying jobs and who knows how many low wage jobs. Three hundred million could pay for road improvements, pay for a good start on high-speed rail, not the low speed white elephant they want to stick us with now. That money could build a nice homeless center with treatment programs and job training facilities. It could be spent to hire some street cleaning crews, pay to beautify some areas like OBT between Colonial and the 408. It could be used to build permanant classrooms, and we could get rid of the portables.
There are many things that could make Orange County attractive to businesses and make them WANT to come here, instead of accepting a bribe to come here.
