Love is the kind of energy which allows one person to keep listening to other person without getting bored.
Infatuation sees only the brighter part. It is nothing but an attraction for a particular reason.

Infatuation has got reason but love has got no reason.
If one can explain why you love another it is infatuation.
If you are not able to explain then it is most probably Love.

Unconditional love I don't know.

So, Zulu9 are you in love or is it merely infatuation?

I dont think there is a defining love between the two at all. Because loving someone totally is unconditional. You know its true love when you reach your 25th wedding anniversary and still feel so blessed being with him. Infatuation fades after a while

Love defines what you feel for the person it requires you to see and acknowledge their faults and still want to be with them (unless they are abusive). A person in love makes sure the person they are with feels comforted and worry about their feelings as opposed to their own. Infatuation never stands the tests of time. you think only about how they make you feel. You don't care if it hurts others. It seems like a slight difference but it is as far apart as the north and south pole. Age and experience usually helps.

I once thought maybe I was just infatuated with someone and my sister said to me, infatuation is a very important thing. If you happened to be infatuated with someone and it actually worked it could be brilliant. You could have true love grow as well - what could be better?

unconditional love is the love u feel 4 ur children, no matter how naughty they r or how they turn out when they grow up u still love them. u know when it's true love with a partner when u realise all their bad habits dont annoy u instead they appeal 2 u, and no matter what they do, employed/unemployed rich/poor u still love them.

True love is when 2 people make an effort to make the relationship work - from the tiniest things, to the big issues, in good times and bad times, when things are hunky dory, and when they start getting monotonous or boring.

Even unconditional love has limits. Your suppost to love your parents unconditionaly but I can say for sure i don't give two sh1ts about my father.
Love comes and goes but caring for someone doesn't.

True love is looking into each other eyes and knowing that the sensation of your tummy being drawn into your mouth is also happening to your partner - and there's the rub!!

What Ellie29uk said... you never really know why you love someone, whether that be a child, family member or a lover, you never can quite put your finger on why..... but you can always find a reason (or several) why you are infatutuated with someone.
