Not at all, and I never have. I've always believed that God is love. What is there to fear, then? If you love someone, would you ever do anything terrible to them? Do you think that God's love is less than your own?

Yes.

Because whenever I get involved with the church and things seem to be going really well on a spiritual level, something always screws up.

My brother is a pastor - and he gave me a book that discussed demons and spirits in the context of the bible. It freaked me out - it talked about spirit possession and specific prayers for casting out demons. It messed with my head big time. I get very nervous when anyone speaks about the bible or religion in any context at this point.

Nothing personal against God - I do my best to live a life that's good and moral - but you won't find me in a church pew.

No I'm afraid of how people use the aspect of God. They use it as a crutch and an excuse to massacre people. They use it as an excuse to start Jihads or Crusades. I see the need for religion but it can easily get out of control and ruin the lives of many people.

NO, becasue I am not who I was when I took my first steps and I am clinging to the promise the He's not through with me yet. Even though I've gone through many trials He's always been there for me to pick me up when I fall...whats to be afraid of...in the Bible God says that He will always be there for you to love and comfort you, and I know I am not scared of someone who is willing to do that for me...

I guess the only reason to be afraid is if you don't know Him yourself...because then I see how that could seem scary.

No, because i have serious doubts of God existing.
And if God did exist -- why would an all knowing all powerful being CARE about insignificant me? Does not God have better things to do then to strike fear into an insignificant race on an insignificant planet orbiting an insignificant star in an insignificant galaxy?

Perhaps the interpretation or misinterpretation of his teachings by his followers.
I have always felt that God=Love. It is a pretty simple equation.
I have never heard of people fearing love. Or love fearing.
But some of us need to be scared straight, and that is what God is for.
So, in short no.

Smile.

I'm no more afraid of gods than I am of Santa Claus or the tooth fairy. Why? Because they're all the same: imaginary!

If I believed... yes, I would take God to be the incensed, jealous, vengeful, genocidal maniac that he is described as being in that book.

But, I don't so.. no, notrly.
