The morning after pill works by making you go on your period. This flushes out any eggs that may have been fertilized. I'm not sure why it has so many restrictions on it. There are not scientific reasons for it. It has no sideeffects besides the usual stuff that comes along with your period. MAP releases a high dose of estrogen into your body, not unlike the pill just in a higher dosage.

This is a very dangerous pill for women, young or old to take.
It is a super high dose of the same synthetic hormones used in regular birth control pills. Women who choose to have sex, and don't want to become pregnant, should plan to use bc or make sure he does. This pill in no way should be used as a form of birth control. When you put such high doses of hormones or any other type of meds into your body you put a huge strain on it. This pill has been kept off of the open market for years in the USA with very good reason. It was originally intended for extreme emergency cases of unplanned, unprotected sex, as in the case of a rape.

Its because its a massive dose of female hormones. Its like taking a month's worth of birth control pills in one/two days. There have been studies that show some cases of cancers developing, and irregularities in hormone levels after the emergency pill was taken.

so it should not be used a form birth control.

S., while you're over 18, you could basically circulate and ask for it at your interior of reach drug keep (CVS, etc), it somewhat is at the back of the counter drugs, yet you do no longer pick a perscription. in the experience that your under 17, you are going to be able to desire to have a prescription. i think of you could circulate to the ER and ask for a perspiration, yet i'm uncertain. additionally, while you're taking 4 delivery administration pills, then 12 hours later take 4 extra, it works the comparable, yet it somewhat is not any longer reported, for the reason which you will possibly be very ill (throw up for days) and your hormones would be thoroughly loopy and tousled.

I am not sure if you have seen the news lately but, just yesterday they are putting it to a vote, the reason why they are (some people) are against it being sold over the counter is because they think it will give the message of it being okay to have "Free Love Sex" which then will help spread STD's more then it's happening all ready.........Yeah right!! if the thought of catching Aids does not stop the young from having "Free Love Sex" then nothing will................
