company name was added to dell splash / I found a great little universal program that will back up and restore the pheonix bios. UniFlash 1.40, a free flash utility with source code in Pascal.
I would have simply backed replaced with standard bios bin from dell but it is not offered and tech support is lacking if not the original owner of the systems. There are apps for changing bios splash in the they're laptops, but none offered or no help availible for the optiplex series. I have one bios bin file so far with a normal splash screen from a gx150 that was not altered, but they used at least three different bios rom chips that I know of so far. #1. sst49lf004a/b/3.3 sectored 128 x 4 (512) #2. intel 82802ab/3.3v sectored 8 x 64 (512). #3. stm m50fw040/3.3v sectored 8 x 64 (512) i have a copy of the bin backup for #1 but need a copy of of the other two or any more that anyone else may know of for the gx150. thanks, Mike
