Idownloaded some songs to put on my ipod Nano but when I push the iTunes icon on my desktop the iTunes thing comes up but when I go to the section with all the songs on my ipod on it the writing is light gray and when it is like that it will not let me add any songs. Usually I go to the section with my ipod songs on it the writing is black I go to files click Import click the song I want click Ok and go back to Files and click Up Date songs and done but I can't do any f this because the writing is gray so someone please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... ******************************************* I ASKED THIS QUESTION BEFORE AND THE 2 ANSWERS I GOT SAID MY NANO WAS FULL BUT IT WON'T LET ME ERASE SONGS EITHER************************************************************************

I think I have the solution to your problem:

1. You left click the "Watever's iPod" (the one with little iPod icon) and under "Update Songs" you click "iPod Options". And then you chose "manually manage songs and play list" and click "OK".

From there you can delete any songs that's in your mp3

If you want to automatically update songs like it was before, repeat step #1.

Oh here's a tip: ctrl + b gives you all the categories and organzies songs well.

OK- a few questions for you...
Will the Nano PLAY songs, or is it completely frozen?
What Computer/OS are you using?
Have you updated the most recent iTunes and iPod software?

oOoOOoOOoo... Okay the only thing is go to where u downloaded the songs at and double click on them and it will tranfer to Ituns and its automatically added on. Then u do update Ipod. and they will be add. the songs that are in gray u cant bother those u go to the ones in the black and delete them. but the way to added them is go to were u download them click on play song or whatever and it goes to ituns

To delete songs, you have to uncheck their box so they don't get transfered.

this happened with mine too,but all i know to do is wait because sometimes it will do this and sometimes it will work. sorry my answer doesn't help very much.
