The ACLU is beyond liberal. They are an anti American Communist organization.
This is not the ACLU of old. They have kicked out liberals who have been members for years, because they aren't liberal enough.
George Romero, their leader used to be the leader of the American Communist Party. They specifically take cases that hurt and embarrass our country. They back free speech if it is bad for our country, like the God Hates Fag Folks. They like that group because they are bad for our country. If you want to call them right wing, fine, they are more undefined. They will help right wing groups, if they feel that that group is hurting our country, thats fine with them.
They try and ban speech of traditional Americans. Some high school girl was not allowed to thank God in her commencement speech, they are militant atheists and want to ban religion, yeah believe me. Communists can't get down with religion and spirituality.
The God Hates Fags is not even the most disgusting thing they are involved in. There is a group called NAMBLA. Does anybody have children, small siblings, neices and nephews? NAMBLA means, North American Man Love Boy Association. It is an organization for men who communicate with each other and share ideas, like in what countries can you travel to to have sex easily with little boys. How to rape little boys and get away with it. They even post ACLU lawyers phone numbers on their website in case they get busted.
Free speech is allowed in America. The ACLU has crossed the line however, and should be shut down as a treasonous and criminal organization.Of course they take the side of the terrorists and they do whatever they can to harm our country in our pursuit of terrorist organizations. They are very dangerous.

There are a lot of misnomers going around about the ACLU.
I urge everyone to read their mission statement and to look at the case history.
Personally I was shocked at the amount of pro oligarch decisions that have been made. Like Corporations can lie according to the 1st Amendment.

They defended him because he was impinging on the funerals of soldiers killed in action, not because of "God Hates Fags" agenda. The ACLU will defend those who attack the sensibilities of others for their own imagined gain.

In the sense that liberals tend to support personal liberties, yes.
The ACLU takes all cases from all perspectives where Constitutional rights are potentially being infringed. Liberal, conservative, fundamentalist, rational, nutjob.
If anything, the worst thing that can be said about them is that they are too tolerant and too willing to defend anyone's Constitutional freedoms, no matter how offensive that person is.

they champion the first amendment. i'm sorry there are some people who don't realize that that's america right there. they usually defend more lefties than righties because the lefties are usually saying more out there **** that gets them arrested sooner. but only a moron would say it's liberal to defend free speech in this country.

No, they are a watchdog group that watches over the constitution. This is something that everyone should be interested in and not just special interest. If organized prayer in schools is against the constitution then it is against the constitution. Whats the deal.
