it is inposable to ever live up to my parents expectations. they will not exept any thing less than perfect grades (if i get a B they take away tv for a week) i have to cook perfect meals (they can always find some thing to complain about) i have to be perfect in every way, i have often heard them telling others how dissapointed they are with me, even though i try as hard as i can. i get about 4 hours of sleep a night because i am in both college and high school (dual enrolment program) i am involved with 6 diffrent clubs, 3 at school, 2 at church and 4-H, i have a job, and i am a jr. leader in church on sundays and wensday nights. yet my parents are never happy.

Trust me on this one. Some parents just set expectations to high for anyone to achieve. I'm a Sophmore now takeing the hardest classes possible because my mom wants me to be valedictorian. Up till this year that hasn't been a problem but now (even though I'm in the second week of school!) I'm staying up till one in the morning doing homework. Trying to keep my straight A record but it's HARD! Then my dad was a track star and baseball star. He still has records in the pole vault. It's his dream for me to go to that Ivy-league college my mom wants me to attend on a basketball scholarship. I was the only freshman starting varsity on my high school team but that wasn't good enough because I didn't set any records. Trust me. Sometimes liveing up to expectations of your parents is impossible. Now do as i say and not as i do. Know that you always do your best and that is all you can do. Don't stress if your parents don't think so. You know you are doing your best so don't stress over IT!!!! more power to you.

I felt I was never good enough, but if I was to live up to what they thought I should be instead of who I am, I would be miserable. There is a way to explain that you are you and they are they and if they would like to you to consider the expectations, they should also give you room to be you.
Respect goes both ways.
I am not saying to ignore them, go to them in a serious adult manner, and tell them that you appreciate that they only want you to be the best you can be, both as a human and in education. though there has to be room for you to know who you are before you can become that which they would like to see.
