We spend so much time running each other down, when in fact a lot of NASCAR drivers are really into F1 racing. So my question is, do you like both, or just one not the other?

The reason why I don't like Nascar, and I've said this a lot of times here, is because they race mostly on oval courses and I don't think that is a real test for a driver's skill. I think that, if you want to see what a driver is really capable of, make him race on a road course. And I'm giving three examples of tracks that are the biggest challenge for the driver:
Monaco, tight street course, very twisty and bumpy track, blind turns all the way, plus a tunnel;
Interlagos (Brazil), bumpy, also blind turns, and when it's rainy, it becomes close to an ice-rink;
Istanbul (Turkey), new circuit, but there are a few blind turns, changing gradients, plus a few turns taken at very high speeds. Without banking.

Plus I heard that Nascar doesn't race if it rains. In F1, the races that are the most entertaining, with crashes, sudden changes in the order, very good overtakings... are in the rain. Dry ones can be also thrilling, but wet ones really give you a kick.

Another reason Americans don't like F1 is because, until this season, there hasn't been a single American driver in F1 for 12 years. This year, there is an American driver, but, being a rookie, he is racing for a low-end team.

So there are a lot of reasons why F1 and Nascar fans will never get along.

I like both and although I watch every F1 race, I only occasionally watch the NASCAR ( and yes - rockpool248- you can see it in Oz if you have Foxtel). I guess the problem that fans of each have is that dislikers can't appreciate the tactics that go into both series. They are both similar in so many ways. Let's just say that you are entitled to like whatever series you want and don't waste time running down other ones!

I like Nascar and F1. I like Nascar just a bit more though but it would be nice if the arguments would stop about which one is better.

i like NASCAR! ok, F1 performs shop on with the chief, no longer NASCAR. they actually bypass eachother in NASCAR. In F1 how lots of people realistically have a gamble to win the race? 2 or 3? In NASCAR a minimal of a million/2 the sphere has a gamble to win. i've got attempted gazing F1, yet i hit upon it VERY dull!!! whilst i can not sleep, I placed F1 on the television. Then i flow out like a mild! lol! :) NASCAR additionally has far greater followers. So, I believe your associates (i'm no longer southern & i like NASCAR). Oh yeah, Dale Earnhardt Jr. regulations!!! flow #8!!!

I'm a self-confessed F1 maniac and don't follow NASCAR only because in Australia (where I live), we never see/hear about NASCAR. I'm sure I would watch the races if it was on TV, and I'm sure there is a good reason why it's so popular...it's good to watch, right?

actually alot of F1 guys try nascar as well, ya, it would be cool if we all respected one another, because to make it even mediocre in either sport at top level you gotta be good, and i think the drivers do respect one another, just think its alot of uneducated fans that don't realize both sports are equally complicated and require a great amount of talent, skill, intelligence, and dedication.

It would be nice for everyone to RESPECT each other and the other person's favorite style of racing and favorite driver for that matter.
If you don't like it........don't waste time you could be spending on you personal favorite on bashing something you don't like.

LIKE MOM'S HAVE ALWAYS SAID.........." IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING ...NICE...DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL."

NOW......LET'S GO...RACING !!!!
F1 AND NASCAR.........AND ALL THE REST........
