I like your question. I think the problem is people don't HATE America. People hate the people who are in CONTROL of America. America is a wonderful place to live- it's too bad our government is corrupt and doesn't give two sh**s about the average American. What you are failing to "see" is that many people who are tired of the way our government runs this country have jobs, families, and roots in America. I'm sure that if there were other countries out there without corruption, jobs for the taking, cheap housing, and a liberal immigration policy, many people would leave America. However, it's not as easy as just saying, "that's it! I'm outta here!" The thing is, you can't just "go" anywhere, and many people can't afford to just pack up their lives and leave. Our country is absolutely beautiful. If you don't turn on the TV or talk to anyone about what's going on, America is "the place to be" but the truth is our Government is destroying what we all love dearly and people near-sighted enough to say, "If you hate it so much, then leave!" have no concept of how difficult it truly is for people to "just leave".

I for one love this country with all my heart. I would die for this country. That is the reason I am disgusted at the way this administration tries to use patriotism as a political tool. I don't need any politician telling me what a patriot is (or any country music singer, for that matter) I admit I was for the invasion of Iraq, because I thought these guys knew something I didn't. It turns out they knew even less. They completely mismanaged this whole fiasco in Iraq and embarrassed this great country. Then they try and spin it as some kind of humanitarian mission to save the people of Iraq. Give me a break, if that's the case we have at least 20 other countries to invade. They think were stupid enough to believe, by implication, that Sadam had something to do with 911. The damn thing was for the defense contractors and the infrastructure contractors. Do you realise how much they make off this stuff? Do you know how much power they have? I believe it is our patriotic duty to vote these people out. That mean all the patriots that screamed for Clinton's head when he lied about sex. Is it okay if your lies get over 2500 servicemen killed. I sure want to fight terrorism, and I love the fight in Afghanistan. I know we can't leave Iraq NOW because there are terrorists there NOW. A patriot stands up for what they beleive is right for their country, a country they can be proud of.

Because of two reasons:
1. They truly love this country, and they love the way of life they are afforded here, but will never admit it becaus they are not happy unless b!tching about something.
2. Why leave? If they hate the new place they go to more than the US, they will not be allowed to speak out like they are allowed to here, and more than likely would end up killed for their thoughts.
I think they enjoy the freedoms, but don't want the "bad" that comes with all of that. If only they would just take the bad with the good, or do something to change what they don't like and stop their darn whining.

I'm not an American though keep on hearing this again and again. And I say why do people who object against the actions of their government, or their President, or their policies, or indeed against the scum in their own backyard, given the title American-haters? If you love your country you're supposed to just put up with EVERYTHING? Is that what you're saying?
It is possible to live in a country and not love all aspects of it you know.
I love many many aspects of the country in which I live, however I don't like the crime, the pollution, the weather, and yes, even the attitudes of a vast number of my fellow countrymen. Does this mean I hate my country? No. Americans like yourself, in my experience, seem to have an all or nothing approach, much like the President - an ''either with us or against us" attitude. In my country, England, it is entirely possible to speak out against the actions of your governement or even the state of your own borough without being branded a traitor. It's called INDEPENDENT THOUGHT, and wanting something better for yourself and your children.

The people that hate America should leave and go to a country that they think is better than ours. I think that they stay because they have family and a good job and just like to complain about everything. Some people are never happy no matter where they live.

I have noticed that most people who people accuse of hating America, don't hate America at all.
I love my country, I hate my government.
But that's not bad, or wrong. That's the essential function of every citizen. If no one hates their government, and always listens to it, you get Nazi Germany.

serious answers to a very usurious question?
there are VERY FEW who live here who hate America... and who knows about them, I don't worry about what tiny groups of crazy people do
those that you are probably talking about are those that aren't happy with the direction America is going and are upset and want to change it... they don't hate America, in fact they love it so much that they stand up and speak out against it's actions...
for example, if you have a brother and he is about to do something that will have a negative impact on the rest of his life, if you love him, is it not your duty to try and stop him or change his mind on the action?
granted, some may not take a very good approach to trying to change things... but, as I'm sure you know, everyone is not a genius on both sides and stupid people do stupid things...

I've been asking that very same question of fundamentalist christians for years. They hate the "moral degradation of society" soooo much that they will do anything, except leave and go somewhere where their puritanical 1800's mentality is more acceptable.

i read a little article a minute ago about how many chinese are going back to china because the feel more "comfortable" there, their food, their culture...but the plan to come back for health services...imagine that...our broken down, antiquated health care system...yet they come from all over to access it... they immigrate here for the freedom to worship as they want, to work and recieve higher wages, for good health care (in our "run down" hospitals), for the freedom to pursue happiness, to feel safer than in their own war torn country, the freedom to asemble without fear of retribution, the privalige of spitting in our face and hating everything "america"...go figure..i dont get it either...kind of reminds me of that goose and the golden egg....they'er gonna miss us when we're gone
