Well unfortunately I don't have any suggestions to help you out.. I have it really really bad. It affects me in SO MANY ways... I barely function and really get tired of life always being so hard for me. I'm not the type to feel sorry for myself or anything like that. I'm a fighter. However I do feel very alone because NOBODY understands how it is for me. I don't need people to feel sorry for me I just want people to understand why I can't do things like others...I take medication for it but it does'nt help much....Good luck to you

Yes...I have the luxury of having a wonderful wife that constantly reminds me of things that need to be done. Some call it nagging, but she knows I need the help.
Yes I see a therapist, though it has had limited success. Mostly due to the lack of my input.
Exercise helps also.
Sorry I don't have alot of advice, just the reassurance that you are not alone. There are many adults that have ADD.

I was seeing a therapist before I decided to bring this up to him. He gave me some medication. I see improvement. I take Wellbutrin. It is actually an anti-depressant but it work in the way ADD meds do.

I don't believe that this is truly a "disorder". Like the 1st answer, this "diagnosis" is passed-out like candy. I believe this is just another personality trait that makes us all different. There is nothing wrong with having this type of personality & it is quite natural for many, many people to need routine and control to get through daily life in a fast-paced, technologically overwhelmed world. Insecurity is also incredibly common, as well as disorganization. It never hurts to talk to a specialist about ways to get more organized etc. Just remember to take it slow & triumph with your little "successes". You are not alone.
