Everyday so that it don't get out of control( pick things up, straighten things). Do a good cleaning at least once a week.

a little bit everyday saves on doing it all on your day off from work. I suggest making up a list of things that need to be cleaned on you computer, like a chart. On the top put the days (mon-sun) and on the left put down what needs to get done, then buy some laminating sheets for it and a couple dry-erase markers, and mark which chore should be on what day. Make sure to spread out the chores though out everyday so then you only have to do one -two things everyday.

Monday-Laundry; Tuesday-Trash; Wednesday-Dusting; Thursday-Vacuuming; Friday-Bathroom cleanup. Each day I spend some time putting things where they belong so that they're out of the way when I have to do the bigger cleaning. Doing a little every day leaves my weekends free for whatever I want to do and the house is always clean for company!

You should do housework as often as you see fit. I think a home should be respectably tidy. Nothing has to be perfect. Some messiness give it th appearance of someone actually living there.

Do a little bit every day, so it is not a pain in the butt. Set a schedule of chores, on biggie each day. For example, Monday, laundry, Tues, bathroom, wed, kitchen, thursday, carpets, friday, bedrooms. Give yourself the weekends off to play! And dont forget to maintain daily chores, like doing the dishes and general cleanup so they dont get too overwhelming!

Every day I go through the house; make up beds, run a rag over the bathroom counter top (and under the toilet seat), gather laundry, sweep floors, vacuum entrance way, pick up stuff.

Once a week I thoroughly wash each bathroom, change linens, mop floors, empty trash cans, wipe windows and sills...

Also once a week, I will go through one room TOP TO BOTTOM - I mean walls, under furniture, the furniture itself, inside drawers, closets.... That way, each rooms gets a major clean every couple of months. It's a great way to keep on top of things and it keeps clutter down too.

I clean once a week major cleaning, dishes everyday lucky me I don't own a dish washer, and laundry well it is never ending, once I get it all done there is a full hamper waiting upstairs for me to start the whole cycle all over again. No pun intended! lol

I do a bit of cleaning every day...i.e pick up things, put things away, load/unload dishwasher. Once a week I do laundry and do the major cleaning like mopping, cleaning the bathrooms/toilets, change bedsheets and every other day I vacuum.

Many years ago, Quentin Crisp (British author and wit) answered this one by saying:
"After the first 5 years the dust doesn't get any deeper" and I've always used that as my personal guideline.

I suppose the real answer should be: when it gets on your last nerve OR the nerve of your spouse, whoever complains first and loudest.

Hope this helps you...somehow.

SMILE!

I usually do a little everyday. Don't get me wrong I'm a pretty clean person...I usually start with the bedroom and clean it from ceiling to floor, then the next day I work on the bathroom, then laundry, then living room, and so on and so forth. It's a nasty job, but us women have to do it. =)
