Man grows till 21 years. So you have still 3/4 years left to grow. Yes family is a factor. But not always. Don't think much about the height thing. The more you think the more you'll shrink. Logic is much thinking puts burden on your head and you'll start shrinking.

I seriously doubt that you're shrinking at 17 unless you have some mysterious bone disorder that is causing them to deteriorate at a rapid rate and making you hunchback. It could be that when you measured your height, you were either tired or stressed and your muscles were in a tightly contracted state pulling you forward and thus making you appear shorter... Why are you so worried about it anyway? Just enjoy and be happy, regardless if you are short, tall, fat, thin, ugly pretty.. whatever... forget about this before it drives you insane

Relax now....you still have a few years to hope that you will grow a bit more.
Measure your height in the morning, because your height will be different in the evening....you are taller in the morning. Don't worry you are not shrinking.

If your body is short on calcium it will pull it from the bones. The discs and joints also get worn with time and you could loose some hight.
At 17 I doubt you would have these problems yet.

Actually men could grow till 26, all depends of hormonal balance between Testosterone & Grow hormone. Try to extend your body everyday 30 min. like hanging& more positive thinking. If you live with fear is hard to grow.So chear up & do extensions!

not likely - your spine might not be straight today or you could have measured wrong. its hard to accurately measure yourself - tough to find the high spot on your head.
