You must have made one of the girls angry or gotten a resource she wanted. OR you did something mean, therefore deserving of the talking about you, but that's less likely than the first two things I said.

Some girls get jealous easily and seem to enjoy inflicting pain on whoever they can to help feel more confident. They don't see they're actually making themselves look like witches to people who are actually nice inside.

I think they'll get theirs someday. Forgive them for now and try to continue minding your own business, sticking up for yourself firmly whenever necessary. Smile a lot and prove them wrong but do it intelligently, not unconfidently.

If you can, try to find out how they have turned your friends away from you. Now would definitely be the time to try on a new online identity, for example, if your friends used to communicate with you that way. If nothing else, this will give you some idea of how to fight against 'them'.
The more important question is "why?" You need to know why 'they' are talking about you and what they are saying in order to effectively respond.
This kind of behavior is not exclusive to girls. Your vocabulary word for the day is 'ostracism', which means to shun or avoid contact with a person. Note that there need not be any better reason than the person doing it wants to make someone else suffer. All you can do is investigate and get to the bottom of it as best you can.

"What are the facts? Again and again and again -- what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell," avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history" -- what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts!"
- Robert Anson Heinlein, "The Notebooks of Lazarus Long"

I have a daughter in this situation. I am thinking you are still in school so expect to see this done for years to come. You may have done something they didn't like, or you may have changed in some way that they do not understand. People grow and mature at different rates so their views change as they get older. My daughter went through what seemed like "end of the world" problems to her, but only a few months later, she has gotten through it and realizes that the differences were actually misunderstandings and gossip which got out of hand. Now she is the one looking for new, less "dramatic" friends because she realized she was doing the same thing to others. Whatever the reason they seem to be turning from you now, it probably will seem insignificant soon.

It might be better to not have any friends at all than to have friends as fickle as your old ones. Work toward doing good things for others instead of worrying over what people say about you... go out and find a Habitats for Humanity group to join and work in..pretty soon you will have a new group of good friends who care more about others than themselves.

God bless you.

Girls do stupid things like that because they are spiteful and jealous. Girls try to put down others to make themselves feel good, especially if they are jealous of you because you are smart and/or pretty. Just ignore them and don't let them get to you. Your true friends will stick by you no matter what.
