I had a baby about a year ago. I never had a problem with acne before I got pregnant. But now, my face is constantly broke out. Any tips on products sold over the counter? I can't afford perscriptions. Thanks

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/
that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

As a teen with acne I've tried everything and for me Clearasil works the best. Proactiv worked but the results were very slow yet consistent. But since the hormones have been mixed up a bit in you since you became pregnant other products might work for you as well. Just try things out and see which one works the best.

Acne can sneak up on us well into our 30's & 40's. Genenerally speaking after the teen years it is most likely hormonal. Aloette's Simply Clear is an aloe-based, very gentle alternative to ProActive. It contains no Benzoil Peroxide to dry out your skin. It comes with a very gentle daily exfoliating cleanser, a Deep cleaning toner, a balancing Moisturizer & an Acne Treatment lotion. I have seen it work wonders for so many. I highly recommend you give it a try.

The presence of blackheads or comedones, small cysts and scars is called acne. It is unsightly spots on neck, face, cheeks, forehead, back, shoulder and chest.

It occurs because of hormonal imbalance. Factors making acne worse are:

* Environmental irritants such as pollution and high humidity makes the condition worse.
* Change of hormone levels in adolescent girls and adult women two to seven days before their menstrual period starts.
* Friction caused by leaning or rubbing the skin.
* Hard scrubbing of skin.

Precautions for acne are:

Chocolates, high starch and fatty food and dried food, seafood, spicy food, soft drinks should be avoided

Skimmed milk should be taken instead. Intake of sugar should be minimized.

Intake of salt should also be reduced. Junk food and consumption of fats must be avoided. You should also avoid the foods having high content of trans-fatty acid. Reduce the intake of food which has iodine. Intake of juices should be more. Cucumber juice is good and should be taken daily.

You should clear the skin properly: The persons suffering from acne should wash their face two to three times a day with a mild cleanser.

Acne patients are prone to sunburn which redness the skin and makes blemishes less visible and makes the skin dry. Oil free cosmetics should be applied.

i hope this helps you :)

Pregnancy throws off hormones and that would be the cause of your sudden acne. Avon cleansing scrubs and pads work well. Neutrogena on the spot helps nicely with individual zits. Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask is a good product. The oxy or whatever is fairly good too. Just clean your face regularly and if those type of products don't help you may want to see a doctor.

The regular peroxide 3%, you buy in any store works really good, no scent, doesn't burn, reduces redness, used as often as you want, it doesn't normally dry the skin out. Super inexpensive way to rid the problem of acne.
