Kurdistan could become an independent country only if Iraq allows it to be separated as another state wherein the people of both territories must have a referendum for this purpose in order to have due process.

This is a difficult question to answer, as it involves several countries it will need a consensus and not one of the countries can agree.
I think they should have an independent country, but will it ever happen?

Nope. Turkey will never allow it to happen, even in Iraq. An independent Kurdistan would be formed from both countries.

Yeah probably at the same time Tibet is given back to it's rightful owners (The Tibetans).
