Since this is only an expression and not an equation (a problem set up as equal to another quantity), there is no way to find the value of x. You can only simplify not solve and the exponents won't go away.

2 x^2 + (x+3)^2 = 225

i guess u gotta factor it all out first:

2x^2 + x^2 + 3x + 3x + 9 = 225

3x^2 + 6x + 9 = 225

take out the 3 to get a quadratic:

3(x^2 + 2x + 3) = 225

x^2 + 2x + 3 = 75

x^2 + 2x -72 = 0

i'm stuck. :(......

5x^2 + 6x + 9 .....quadratic formula........-6 + or - square root of (6^2 -4(5)(9)) all divided by 2(5)......but because the part of the equation inside the square root comes out to be negative, the answer is no solution, unless you've learned imaginary numbers, which I doubt you have yet because you didn't know how to do that right away.

4x^2 + x^2 + 6x + 9 = 225

5x^2 + 6x + 9 = 225

5x^2 + 6x - 216 = 0

(5x+36)(x-6)=0

so x = -36/5 or x = 6

2x squared +10X +3=0
factor that, but I think there is no solution.. or this is a hard one to factor

2x2 + X2 + 9 =225
3x2 +9 = 225
3x2 = 216
x2 = 72
x = sqrt(72)

I think

Since you did not set this equation to any quantity, there's no way to know.
