If you want to turn a fraction to a percentage, all you have to do is mutiply by 100. The theory is that, the fraction gives you much per one, so when you multiply by 100 you get the percentage.
Ex, when you say 3/8
You actually mean, if it is 3 for 8, how much for 1
8 : 3
1: 3/8
100 : 3/8*100 = 300/8 = 37.5 %
To give you an example, think that you got 3 answers right out of 8 questions and
If you are given marks out of 8, it will be 3
If you were given out of 1 it will be 3/8
and if you are giout of 100 it wil be 37.5%

The easiest way is to use a calculator. If your fraction is 3/8, use a calculator to divide 3 by 8, then multiply by 100 (or just move the decimal point 2 places to the right). The answer is 37.5% in your example. This will work every time.
If using a calculator is cheating, then use long division. Using your example, divide 3.000 by 8. You will get the same answer (.375). Expressed as a per cent that is still 37.5%. If you want more decimal places, just keep adding zeros and dividing more and more.

37.5%;
1. Well, to see how many times 8 goes into 100, divide 100 by 8. 2. The quotiont you get should be 12 1/2.
3. Multiply that by 3 to get three eighths.
4. Convert three halves which makes 1 1/2.
5. Add three eighths and 1 1/2, and you will get 3/8 as a percent.

This makes me laugh.. When I was in school.. if you asked a simple question like this, you would get 45 minutes of confusing.. divide the quotient by the sum of the blah blah blah..
Why not just tell us to divide 3 by 8 and move the decimal point to get the percentage..
Compare the quality of answers given here.. some are concise and to the point..others are completely confusing.
I wish you luck.. just divide 3 by 8 and move the decimal points to the right twice.

Here,
3 / 8 = (3 / 8) * 100 %
= 3 * 25 / 2 %
= 75 / 2 %
= 37 (1 / 2) %
= 37.5 %
