I've been bawling my eyes out all day since I found out that Pluto is not longer considered a planet. Why did they have to do this? Why couldn't they just keep it the way that it is?

Pluto as a planet brings about a lot of contradictions. We've discovered that Pluto isn't just one lonely rock in the sky, it's one of probably thousands of others similar to it. Are all those thousands of rocks going to be called planets, too? That's not right. And what about bigger objects than Pluto? That would include asteriods (particularly Ceres, one of thousands in an orbit between Mars and Jupiter).

The Internation Astronomical Union is in charge of these things. And they decided it was best to remove Pluto, and keep the planet count at eight, than to ask elementary school kids 10 years from now to be required to know the names of all 200 known planets.

its still a planet they just redefined planet to fit the definition that up held Pluto be planet, those added other planet like object to be considered planets, objects that r similar to Pluto. So don't Cry, Rejoice we now get to add two othe planets to our system like 2003 UB313 and Charan, which was plutos moon

Don't worry, Pluto is still out there, wandering thru space.

Pluto is the god of the underworld, so don't worry, you can't kill the Undead.

The epitaph of Pluto: Pluto is Dead. Long live Pluto!

I'm sorry, Princess. May your tears soon be dried. All the Plutonian welfare recipients that won't be getting "paid" any longer are sure to be more upset than even YOU are
