Because there's a really good ice-cream place right outside of it. But, seriously, this is where the Hunchback of Notre Dame occurred and it's also featured in the "Da Vinci Code". A book that will give you some interesting anecdotes on it is called "Walking the DaVinci Code in Paris", by Peter Caine. For instance, one is," a brass stud in the front of the cathedral is the exact center of Paris and is the point from where measurements to other towns originate from. If you stand on it and make a wish, it will come true!

It is beautiful! For sheer art appreciation! The church is so well made, the architecture is incredible!
