What's a good internship for a Political Science major? I'm currently a 3rd-year U.S. university student majoring in Political Science, with a concentration in International Relations. Even though that often internships are left towards the 4th or last year of undergraduate studies, I just want a jump ahead. Thank you!

With an IR concentration, you could try the following:

1. The House or Senate foreign relations committee

2. The U.S. mission to the United Nations

3. The United Nations

4. The World Bank or IMF (if you want to get an advanced degree later)

5. An international NGO (there are too many to list)

If you can pull one, an excellent internship is with a member of Congress. You can also look into working with various special interest groups (try to go for ones whose ideals you agree with).

A good internship would be to work on a governor's or senator's campaign.

Contact your congressional representative and senators' offices. There's nothing better than being in the thick of it.
