A person’s life is full of dreams. Dream can be about one’s ambition which he gets fulfilled with the passage of time thru his own hard work, intelligence, good planning and with the blessings of Almighty. Another is day dreaming which is really not a good habit and can be controlled with one’s will power. But what about the dreams a person experiences during sleep. Do they hv effect in our real life? What do they mean? What is their interpretation? The person asks to his friends, elders and seniors in his social circle. Sometimes he gets satisfactory reply and sometimes not. These days Internet is a rich source of information. So one does not need to depend on others for one’s dream interpretation. The Yahansmaniac Community member suggests the following.

Hello, Keyla H.
Our dreams have many reasons, some are to reflect on events that have past or to think of future events.
Problems may be solved in dreams.
The future may be seen in our dreams.
Dreams are the source of inspiration, many ideas come from dreams.
Most things created by humans came from a dream.
To dream of a none existing concept and making it into a reality is what seperates us from the rest of the other living spieces.
This web page may have come from a dream.
So, dream a dream of a stream of ice cream, jump in it and scream "I DREAM"

Dream just happen . Based on the day's activities or thought process , the sub-conscious mind just bounces it back to us .
Good dreams are an encouragement to wake up and work for it .
Nightmares are a signal to be careful and also to be thankful that it was just a bad dream and nothing in reality .
That's what I understand . The crux of our dreams :)

during the sleep cycle process the brain goes through long rythmic signals during deep sleep (stage four). during this period you are in what is known as NREM (non rapid eye movement) sleep, you have no dreams and chemicals in your body generally cause you to lie still. occasionally there are situations where these chemicals are unreleased and from this you get sleep walking or night terrors where the person has no memory of what caused them to act in such a way.
However, when your brain comes up to the shallowest levels of sleep, level 1, you enter what is called REM sleep. during this period the brain activity is punctuated by short rapid and fairly random signals. as your brain tries to interpret these symbols it creates dreams, sometimes from things that have happened recently, and sometimes not. also during this time, the chemicals which prevent you from moving in deep sleep are not prevelant, your eyes twitch (even though closed) and here's where people may or may not kick around.
the basic answer to your question then, is that you dream because during periods of stage 1 sleep your brain is producing alot of random activity which it then tries to interpret into something understandable. this interpretation is your dreams

Well, what shows up in our dreams is events that have happened to us very recently -- almost always what happend that day. Now WHY we dream... I'm not really sure. I think maybe because we are trying to tell ourselves something. For example, people always say that when you are dreaming of going to the bathroom, you really are. (Sorry, but that's what I hear!) So... I'm not totally completely sure, but I think that we, or some other 'higher being' may be trying to tell us something when we dream.

It is your mind working while at rest. Dreams can be interpreted to show actual aspects/worries/joys of your life.

They are merely entertainment of made up or combined fragments of memories and thoughts... they don't mean anything, sometimes they can reveal hidden thoughts, but that is only under circumstances of uncertainty and anxiety...

one theory is that your brain has lots of random thoughts that it's about to "throw out" and dreams attempt to make a story out of it
