if anyone has the book...could you tell me where Nick talks about how things don't have meaning but people interpret it and give them meaning? i know he says it somewhere

I pretty sure he talks about a rose...meaning Daisy like around where Mrytle gets hit by the car

I actually have the book on my computer, but I can't find the section you're speaking of. Maybe you could explain a bit further, give some specific details of what he says?
