First, that's Pi, no longer Pie. Pie is a fruit or meat filled pastry, no longer a mathematical term. Circumference = Pi * diameter C=?*d or Circumference = Pi * 2 * radius C=2?r in the experience that your words are 31.4=r C=2*3.14*31.4 C=197.192 cm in the experience that your words are 37.sixty 8=d C=3.14*37.sixty 8 C=118.3152 cm

Circumference = 2 x pi x the radius (which is half the diameter).
That's the same as
2 x pi x 1/2 d
which is simply pi times the diameter.

It's pi X radius squared, not pi X diameter.

Radius = diameter\2

so pi X (diameter\2)squared

What's the difference? If the diameter is 6, then the radius is 3. 3 squared is 9. Pi times 9 would be the curcumference, not Pi times 6.
