Goldfish have very short term memories. And there ability to remember is based on the temperature of the water they are in. The colder it is (within a reasonable livable range) increases their compacity to remember.

Also Koala bears are believed to have a bad short term memory, yet have an excellent long term memory, which is reasonable considering they sleep about 22 hours a day.

An old human like me. You know the worst thing about growing old is that you lose your short term memory but, worse than that, you start to lose your short term memory.

Anyone who has lived for a long period of time with either dogs or cats knows that both dogs and cats have some kind of short-term memory, as well as some level of long-term memory.

I won't give examples here. No time for that.
