Shop Tax Free in New York Every Week

As of April 1, 2006 New York's tax free shopping week has become permanent. New Yorkers will no loger pay any sales tax on clothing and shoe purchases under $110.

Back in September 2005, New York City eliminated the city sales tax of 4% on these items. Now the state has eliminated state sales tax, effective April 1 2006. That means a total savings of 8% on all clothes and footwear under $110. Might as well go out and pick up some cute sandals to celebrate.

I'm "stilllaughing" too..at the thought that NY would allow a no-tax week!
Seriously...no disrespect meant...is NY really going to have a no-tax week?
Taxes are one of the main reasons the middle class is leaving places like NY in droves.
