I like Yellow Cake by Duncan Heinz.
Betty Crocker's Yellow Cake is ok but not nearly as yummy.
Check you fridge & pantry before you leave the house to go to the store to see what you already have & don't need to buy.
Pick up a box from any grocery store & a little tub of Chocolate frosting & read the "What You Will Need" & the directions while your in the store to see what you need to buy like oil, eggs, butter and whatever else you may need.

I agree with others who suggested buying a cake mix.
While you are in the grocery store, pick up any of the ingredients that the box of cake mix shows you will need.
Always preheat your oven so that by the time you put your cake in it to bake, it will be the correct temperature. Put the cake in the oven on a rack placed in the middle of your oven (not bottom).
Follow instructions on the box.
