I was speaking to someone online, and they was telling me how they allow their children to go to a nudist beach with them. Their kids are 11 and 13. I don't think personally I would want my children to be with me. I think that is just absolutley wrong.

They are nudists. That implies their perception of how "wrong" it is ti see a naked human body is very different from non-nudists.

If you are a nudist, how old do your children have to be before you allow them to turn into nudists?

I think it is not any more unnatural to grow up as a nudist than to become one. If you don't take them with you, you set double standards. You also tell them that being nude is an "adult" thing. Which in turn defeats the very idea of nudism. It is highly illogical not to take them with you.

It is somewhat similar to being a vegetarian, only without a tabu.
If you are a vegetarian, you'd normally feed your childern vegetarian food, not meat. People who eat meat might question your decision, but is you decision wrong?

If you choose not to take your children there - that is your thing. If your friend takes their kids there, that is their thing. Your have no business trying to impose your morals on them.

How would you like it if your best friend popped out of the closet the next time you were "doing it" and started a play-by-play critique of your performance? You'd be angry and insulted. They have the right to feel the same way at you butting into their lifestyle choices.

Nudist colonies do not hurt anyone. Most especially kids. Adults I've met who grew up going to such places (I've never even visited one, myself) have always been very sane, stable people. More importantly, they tend to have wonderful relationships with their partners, because they don't marry based on physical appearances. So, don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

Yes, it is ok. You have to realize that a nudist colony is not about sex. Its not like taking them to some wild resort, this is a way of life for these people. They probably are also nude at home when they are there and their kids have grown up accepting that as just the way things are.

Well when you have children you can make that choice. THEY ARE ONLINE...How do you know if they are telling the truth anyway? They might not have children at all......who knows, maybe you are the 13 year old kid for all I know.

By denying their nudity, you imprint 'it's dirty' into their minds.

Kids that grow up without hang-ups about sex and nakedness make better balanced humans.

Young children don't have any preconceived notions of right or wrong - parents give them those.

It's your choice not to take them naked with you - don't put your narrow mindedness onto others - certainly not your kids.

EVERYONE has their own opinion on subjects like this. YOU have to decide whats Best for YOUR kids. My mum used to yell at dad for walking around the house nude. He just said that every child will be an adult one day and see someone else nude. Just make your own mind up if they see what they will one Day be and follow that intuition . Hope this helps.

Well parents have the right to raise their children how they want to. Just because their morals don't match yours doesn't mean that they must follow how you think. I think its odd for parents to do that but I can't tell anyone how to raise their own kids.

There is nothing wrong with it. Under all these clothes, everyone is naked. It should be no big deal. It's not as if a parent never sees their kid naked, or the kid sees their parent naked....it happens all the time.

Everyone is born nude. Families are all different. Don't worry about other people so much.

It is probably good for the children to feel comfortable and accepting of their bodies.
