I presume you are using MS Paint. If so, click File, then Save. The dialog box that opens has two option boxes at the bottom. One is where you normally put your filename and the other is 'type'. Click the image type you want to save this as - in this case select jpeg or jpg.

Easiest way is to right-click on the file. Choose "Open With...", and then choose "Paint". It will open the file in a new window, and then you are free to "File", "Save". That will bring you to a new window, at the bottom of which there is a drop-down menu, which will read "24-bit Bitmap". Just click on it and change it to "JPEG". Now you can save your file where you want to keep/use it.

yes you can change a bitmap picture to a jpeg picture whit Paint ( you enter in paint open bitmap picture and then press file button- save as- save as type- jpeg)

Sure...open the image with Paint, and click FILE, SAVE AS. And in the dropdown menu change the filetype from BMP to JPG, and click OK. That should do it!
Oh, dont forget to name the file! :-)

then in the file press on save as
now change the option from bmp to jpeg
and save
