OK, two answers for you. First of all, mood swings happen all through pregnancy, and it's probably too early to deliver that baby. Hang tight, it's almost over. About the 12 year old and room. Offer an incentive for cleaning and or keeping the room clean. A new poster, throw pillow, etc. Let him know that you will be inspecting on a weekly basis and if he want that new CD, you'll buy it on inspection day. Make sure you follow through.

I think mood swings are just a part of pregnancy...period!! I was grumpy a lot during my pregnancy...off and on through out the whole 40 weeks.
As for the 12 year old's room?? We've gotten to where it comes down to...'either clean it up and keep it clean, or we start donating toys, games, movies, etc. to 2nd-hand stores'. Mom and Dad get to pick the item to be donated, then the child gets to be the one to hand it over to the store. It only takes a toy or two to get the message across. :) Lord Bless...

Sometimes during the last moth or so of your pregnancy, hormones kick in to high gear and how your body handles it varies from woman to woman. In my case, the last part of both my pregnancies, I was on a cleaning binge; could not keep my house clean enough it seemed. As for my mother, she was always crying...LoL
As far as the 12 year old is concerned; I watched a segment on TV not too long ago where the mother couldn't get her children to keep their rooms clean and she warned them and warned them about it. Took priviledges away, grounded them, and donated their stuff to charities. When none of that stuff worked, she listed all the stuff on ebay and sold it all! LoL When they realized they weren't getting any of their stuff back, they started picking their things up and keeping it where it belonged because they were afraid she was gonna sell more of their stuff if they didn't...LoL
Taking my priviledges away worked for my mother when it came to making sure I kept my room clean :-)
