Given the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven, a charge that doesn't conclude in a conviction should be expunged.
Certainly in the worst case scenario ,the court can be petitioned in order for the charge(s) to be removed.

if you were charged and printed and mugged---it will stay there even if you were found not guilty or the charges were dropped==there are certain things that can be espohged from your record==meaning it can be removed through a court order===you would need an attorney =to do this for you.

It depends on who is looking at the record. A judge would have access to it forever. Other people and places wouldnt be able to see it unless its status was still pending.

- basically there forever
- however, if it's your only offense...and it wasn't as big then it is usually not much of concern.
- if you happen to be charged again with something, the judge WILL look back on your records. If it is anything relavent to what you did before, it IS a concern.
