I'm doing some kind of music video/skit in my drama class and I need a nerd outfit for tomorrow. It has to be something that I might already have because I don't have enough time or money to go out and buy anything. I need ideas for everything from hair, to clothes, to socks and shoes. Thanks.

Put your hair in a bunch of ponytails all over your head. Find some article of clothing that is ill fitting, like a skirt that is too big or pants that or too short, or you can get a pair of pants that fits you and roll it under and tape it to make them look too short, like a temporary hem. Get a t-shirt and write something dorky on it, like something that nerds would think is cool but everyone else would think is dumb. And if you have a sweater that buttons wear that but leave it unbottoned so people can see your t-shirt. See if anyone in your household has argyle socks, and wear the plainest shoes you have, like plain black or brown ones that tie. If anyone in your house has glasses that you can borrow that will be a good thing to add on, make sure you wrap some white tape around the nosepiece on them. If you can't see through them, pop out the lenses, if whoever they belong to says it's okay.

take time in a lunchbreak to run out to a local charity / thrift store and buy up the cheapest, most horrible clothes they have on the rack in a size slightly bigger than your usual (bagginess gives extra geek points)... be sure to get a whole outfit. remember to pay the nice person on the counter an extra 50%, now... just so they think you're extra insane.

i got a very nice setup like that for a similar theme one year... dear oh dear, it makes me nauseous to think about it now, it was so terrible. i think most of it went in the trash a few days later. it was cheaper than hiring a costume though!

oh yeah and while you're in there see what other props they may have - hats, glasses (without lenses, preferably, so you don't fall over things), deely boppers, hairbands, bracelets, bandanas, scarves, what-have-you

this would be helpful if u have a brother, if u do get an oxford shirt and some dress pants that don't match, and wear them with a belt, tuck in ur shirt too

if u don't have a bro, find some catholic school looking clothes in ur warobe and do what i said eariler, it would also be good to get glasses and but tape between them and put pens in ur pockett,

good luck with ur skit!!!!!

Do the whole Urkel (sp?) thing from Family Matters. Thick glasses, pen in the pocket - classic, high water pants, shirt tucked in, wear suspenders, part your hair down the middle and slicked back with lots of gel.

Clothes which demonstrate a lack of attention to personal appearance and suggestive of a rich inner life.

Rent "Revenge of the Nerds". It has a broad array of geekiness--plus it's really funny.
