Take the wheat and put it in a basket. Holding the basket firmly with both hands, toss the wheat into the air and catch it again in the basket. Do this repeatedly and the chaff will be carried away by the wind leaving a basket with nothing but wheat in it.

I've seen something similar done with a fan and a chute. The mixture is dumped down a chute with the fan blowing up the chute. The denser material rolls down the chute against the fan generated wind and the lighter material is blown back up the chute.
