One event that shocked the literary world and spawned the genre of romantic novels was the publishing of Lady Chatterly's Lover.

It was a very risque novel and thus began the decline of "clean" authorship.

There is no word that is taboo anymore. You can write any sort of vulgar language or describe any situation you desire and it will sell.

Pity. Literature took a nose dive then and is still diving.

I hope I'm answering this question correctly, it's a little confusing how you wrote it.

Possibly the amount of education that you've had. If you attend college, you obviously are going to be able to write with more variety. Writing will be easier because you are educated to the point where you have an extensive vocabulary and can write grammatically correct.

A negative might be that you took drugs and you are not able to function in your adult life as much as someone who did not take drugs.

well it's gotta do w/ characteristics, rules, and ways we either read or write.

for example, shakespeare wrote in old english. but reading it today, it's So hard to understand it. we've changed a lot from old ways of writing, and are constantly introducing new ways and rules.

also, reading/writing events... think of Nobel Prizes, think of top 10 Book seller....

i'd also suggest something regarding the news, shift in journalism from News to Sensationalism (yellow journalism)

i'd say a lot of people had more emphasis on grammar Before, and not so much now. stuff like that..good luck
