it's the iron in them. for the first trimester you don't need as much iron as later but you need the folic acid so you need to take prenatals. they make a type without any iron and one with a low dose. I think it is called Prenate. I will see if I can find that for you. Tell your dr about your problem and see if he can give you a perscription for one of these.

Some pregnant women do have trouble tolerating certain prenatal supplements, particularly those that contain a lot of iron.
Take them at night before you go to sleep and with juice that in at least 100% vitamin C

prenatal vitams have all of the vitamins and everything that your body needs. that is why they are soo good for you but since your body is not use to it then it will make you sick....i had to take them because of my infertility and stuff and well, i had to take it with clomid and metphormin so i had it twice as bad....good luck and just soo you know TAKE 2 FLINSTONES VITAMINS IN THE PLACE OF A PRENATAL VITAMIN. I asked the same of ym doc and that is what he told me...good luck and hope this helps

I had that problem too, so for my second child I told my doctor that I wouldn't take those God awful things and he said to just take a couple of Flinstones chewable vitamins each day, so that is what I did and I wasn't sick at all.

Are you sure that it is it vitamins? I have never had that problem. What vitamins are you taking?
Maybe you should chat with your doctor.
It could just be that you are having some morning sickness

Why do eggs make you vomit?
Why dose ice cream make you sick?
Why can't you stand the smell of cooked hambuger?
Every women and every pregnancy are different.
try to take them later in the day when you are not so prone to morning sickness, also try to take them with crackers, or some other food that wont make you sick.

I have heard that generic brand ones can make you sick, but it's most likely the hCG levels making you sick!
If you don't think so, why not try switching prenatal brands?

Never had the problem myself, whatsoever, I don't eat that much and while pregnant, I knew I had to eat a little more and that did make me sick until I got used.
Ask your doctor though, perhaps those p.v. aren't good for you.
