If you are asking how it makes its money as how it works, then the answer is advertisement. If you are asking how it works for you and me, then the answer is that you sign up, fill out a profile, then add a whole bunch of people you don't know, then have your parents find out about it, then get it deleted, then sneak on, then get raped from an online predator. Just kidding. That doesn't happen, usually.
