I would have to say that it all depends on your health. It also depends on how you feel about the decision. Parents that breastfeed have some difficulties and it could be very painful. Breastfeeding is a lot healthier. I breastfed my daughter cause i knew it was a lot healthier. I didn't really believe in formula I guess it's all in what you believe in. If you are smoking Cigarettes or drinking or doing illegal drugs then no you should not breastfeed because that could harm the baby. Whatever you put in the body the baby takes in from the milk.

DEFINITELY.
It's perfect food for your baby, it's free (not a bad thing, so much baby stuff is expensive), and it's really easy to do--ask a lactation consultant if you run into any trouble, but both of mine were at it right away. Have seen lots of studies lately showing benefits from breastfeeding that I didn't even know about--breastfed babies have fewer allergies, are healthier in general, develop faster, are less likely to be overweight adults(!!) and so on. I'd say the only down side was if it was time to nurse but I couldn't do it right then, I "leaked" a few times on my shirt (there are bra pads for this but I didn't use them...) and my boobs felt pretty full. One of the best parts was when a baby needed feeding at night, no hassle with making formula or anything. Could fall back asleep, yay.

Breast feeding is the best. Your milk has nutrients in it for good brain development and makes the baby smarter. Formula has a hard time duplicating that. Do you know when formula was first inverted they left out some of the nutrients and some of those children on formula were a little slow mentally. Moms milk is meant for human babies. It take a lot of perseverance to Brest feed. Read some book on it and contact what was La Leche league. Some hospitals have birthing classes and breast feeding classes and they all have the breast feeding consultant to help.

Should I breastfeed? Yes, and I did. But I think you want me to tell you if I should think you should do it. I believe it is the best decision for the baby but it isn't my place to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I included a link that gives all the wonderful reasons why breastfeeding is a good decision. Read them and decide for yourself.

Me, no, because my kids are 7 and 11.
Did I breastfeed? absolutely!
Should mothers of infants and toddlers breastfeed? Yes, if at all possible.

I admit, I used to be one of the people who 100% was AGAINST breastfeeding because I had negative thoughts about it. I used to think "is this natural for moms to do" and "God isn't that going to hurt" and "how on earth can it be natural to feed a child from my breast."

BUT

Now- when I have a baby, I couldn't imagine NOT breast feeding my baby. It's healthy for the baby, It helps you and your baby bond, You don't have to pay for formula! However the number 1 thing that really grabbed my heart the last time I spent time in prayer about this is that breast feeding is something that ONLY the MOMMY can do for the baby.

That's special to me to because anyone can bottle feed a baby, change the baby's diapers, dress and bath the baby...but only the Mother can breast feed. What a special blessing that is!

So I'm now one of the many women who support, encourage, and believe in breast feeding. And I can't wait to have a baby so I can experience this special form of nurturing!

Blessings To You & Yours

Absolutely....natures way of providing the best nutrition for baby especially if you eat right and take care of yourself. Through Clostrum (the initial breastmilk) you pass on certain immunities to your child, thus decreasing the chances of infection...especially ear infections later in life. Breastfed kids are less apt to be obese later on in life. (according to recent studies...but i think the jury is still out on that one).

Yes, especially the first milk the colostrom. It also helps you lose weight fast. Its easier on the babies stomach so less burp up and crying. It also gives your baby antibodies.

Breastfeeding is something that you have to decide to do on your own. All anyone on here can tell you is that breastmilk is indeed better for the baby. Good luck.
