at a social gathering the other night when we were in a good conversation and the topic of politics came up people start acting like they are so perfect.thay cause this big commotion and then they look like stupid idipts when someone tells them the truth. they are complaining that we are at war but when ssomeone asks them if whether they want the war to be fought over there in the middle east or if they want the war to be fought in the United States they look like fools.

you're right. It is humorous to bring up politics in a way. It really weeds out the ones who are educated and the one's who's only response is "George Bush sucks". I really don't care what side of the fence you're on, just have an opinion! The dumba$$e$ who try to debate but have not educated themselves on the topic, just look stupid. I think it's a shame that talking about politics is taboo. If more people talked about it maybe we wouldn't be so blind as to what our Government is really up to. The truth is, people think politics is a boring topic and have "too many other things to think about", but the sad thig is, if we don't start to seek answers for all this corruption and lying, we are just as guilty as the ones pulling the strings. It's time we all stop being afraid of our opinions, it might surprise many of us to learn there might be a few friends in the same position, but were too afraid to talk about it.

Wishing death to Arabs or Asians seems to be a favorite casual pastime in the USA. We do it without any remorse as though we had a right to do so because we are "civilized"!!!

politics is the worst thing to talk about at a thing like that. everyone has a different opinion and everyone wants to make you believe that they are right

you don't - sex, religion and politics are 3 things you do not discuss in polite company. The reason is precisely what you described.

talk about sports, movies, art, gossip, fashion, cars, etc.
