Oh, I think if he/she thought something was wrong he'd have ck'd some other things. I'll say a prayer though, but think it'll be fine. I am having a grandbaby worry, too, they have to induce my daughter-in-law 6 wks early cuz of MS. But I think it'll be ok.
You're in my prayers.

I have been told they cannot hear a heartbeat till around 12 weeks using a doppler. Some have heard it early and some not till after 12 weeks. An ultrasound can detect a heartbeat early. If she is really concerned then she needs to contact her OB doctor about this and get seen before 2 weeks.

At 9 weeks it can be hard to find the heart beat, don't worry about just go back in 2 weeks. And if you have any questions or concerns ask right there on the spot, doctors expect you to have questions and if the doctor doesn't take the time to answer your questions take the time to find another doctor. I have had 4 children and each pregnancy was different, with my 1st I went through the same thing but I asked right away and was assured it was normal. Best of luck and congrats.

If they thought something was the matter, they would have loaded her up on a stretcher and taken her to the hospital. I've seen that happen twice while waiting at the ob/gyn's office.
If your daughter has a lot of extra abdominal tissue, that could have bene part of the problem; also, babies turn in odd positions to get comfy, sometimes eluding the ultrasonagrapher....T hough you did say 9 weeks so that's probably not it. It's common and again, rest assured, if there were a problem, she would have gone to the hospital right then.

That is pretty early to hear the heartbeat. If the doctor was really worried about not hearing the heartbeat he wouldn't have told her to come back in two weeks. Don't start worrying yet.

I was pregnant back in September and went to my first appt and the doctor couldn't see or hear a heartbeat. It turned out that I had a blighted ovum. There was something seriously wrong with the baby so my body rejected it and I miscarried. Sorry to deliver bad news. As hard as it is, she can always try again if it is the case that she is going to miscarry. Three months after I miscarried I got pregnant again and now we are expecting a baby in December. Don;t worry yet. Your daughter should ask her doctor to do an ultrasound to see if they can see a heartbeat.

not hearing a heartbeat is very uncommon and should not be taken lightly. But I can not imagine the doctor not telling her why and can't imagine him waiting two weeks before seeing your daughter again. I would just have her take it easy and not worry to much maybe the baby is just in a posistion that the heartbeat is hard to get. Tell her to take it very easy untill her next appointment. And if she feels scared or uneasy about it (I know I would) have her call the doctor and ask him is this normal and why did it happen. Not all equipment is the same so it is very hard to say. But again with the doctor not being overly concerned I would not fret about too much. Just have her take it easy.

You can't hear the heartbeat until at least 10 weeks. If you do a visual ultrasound, you can usually see the heartbeat at 9 weeks, but would not be able to hear it.
Don't stress because you're only going to project that stress onto your daughter and she doesn't need that right now. Take a deep breath and relax.

Don't worry, 9 weeks is quite early to hear a heartbeat. If they were that worried they would've given her an internal scan to check things out. The baby is tiny and could be in an awkward position. Try not to worry. And congratulations

Most Dr's don't even agree to see any pregnant woman before 11-12 for this exact reason. Its hard to hear the heartbeat plus teh miscarriage risk is a lot higher before then. My Dr' found out unexpectedly I was pregnant at 5 weeks and they ask me to come back at 11. That's when they checked for the heartbeat.

I'm 24 wks. and I didn't hear my baby's heartbeat until I was 14 or 16 wks with the doppler, but when they did my ultrasound at 10 wks. I couldn't hear it, but it showed on u/s that it was 165. Don't worry if the Dr. is not worried then you shouldn't be either. Congratulations and Good Luck
