I don't mean an isolated terrorist attack like 911 or OK City, I mean full out war

I think that it will probably be at least a good fifty years if not more. The only scary thing is that China has an ever expanding army going because everybody over there must serve at least three years. Their forces total over 200,000,000 troops. The U.S. only has about 900,000 troops most of which are deployed over seas. Kind of scary isn't it.

I think you're asking a good question, unlike most of the ones on this board. Although, I think you should include an "isolated" attack because that is probably what the US faces, as apposed to a nation sending troops like they use to in the "good ole days." Remember an isolated attack can be highly traumatic and dramatic as 9-11 was, and the enemies of America are aware of this. In contrast to what you see in the news, I don't think the muslims are going to hijack planes in the near future. In fact I think the reason there were few hijacked planes prior to 9-11 was because they wanted America nice and worry free about hijackings. So I would say they're in the process of something big. It is possible the recent arrests in Britain of supposed hijackings was a ruse by Americas enemies to cover a bigger plan. So what could that plan be??? I don't know but I can tell you this that fundamentalist islam would LOVE to nuke an american city. If you put yourself in the mind of the enemy what else would they settle for, and in my opinion its not a matter of "if" but "when".But I'm just a regular guy making ends meet like all of you what do I know, but I've heard some professional people say the same stuff, so I would guess its common sense, something I know I do have. I would also think common sense wise that the Muslims are going to build the bomb on US soil...remember the hijackers learned how to fly planes in the US, they to do things the easy way. And the muslims will use our highways to transport the bomb, or bombs to its target. From what I've heard building a crude nuke isn't even difficult and the muslims have the brains, they just need the materials needed. America is big enough, and they don't need to test the bomb first, it will work or it won't. Hopefully won't but I have a feeling it will.

First off, 9/11 wasn't isolated. It was their second attempt on the same buildings. And don't forget our bombed embassies and the USS Cole among other attacks.

I don't understand why a lot of the American citizens seem to have become pacifists in the face of the enemy we now confront. Just what do the Islamic terrorists have to do to raise their anger? The terrorists are counting on these people - every time they read an editorial or news story condemning the war effect, it gives them just that much more confidence that they will be victorious. It's a sad commentary.

If America stands united and strong, a major war will never hit our shores. If.......

Only if all of Europe united and wanted to invade us. They are the only ones that would stand a chance. Nobody else would stand a chance.
