Depends on the car and the look you want to achieve as for cost do it yourself I personally like 1970,s American muscle cars that really need their badges ! if I was to build a low rider with a nice one coloured paint job and adjustable lift suspension it would have no original badges and no door handles and everything smoothed out or recessed including lights etc including the twin radio Ariel's also "Frenched" into the bodywork not forgetting the roof chop bit old school but so am I !!!!!!!!but all that stuff is probably a bit extreme for the usual sticker engineering cars on the road at this time,having a Nos sticker is not a performance part!

No one notices my car. It's a factory issue Vauxhall Corsa, practically invisible! I saw a souped up Honda Civic today, with the lights and badges removed. It looked ... well daft. I've noticed quite a few Vectra owners have de-badged the biv V on the bonnet and it does make the car look a bit more exclusive...

most cars you can do yourself for free. i don't recommend it unless you are planning to keep it or do severe work to it to race or sell...
