when I went to download Candy Girl on Soulseek it says the Jackson 5 also did it,but I think the only one who sang it was new edition.....please help!

Producer Maurice Starr wrote this shortly after seeing the band perform at a talent show. He signed them and had them record this in a small studio in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
Starr wrote this in the style of "ABC" by The Jackson 5. He wanted New Edition to emulate The Jackson 5, and had them perform similar dance moves and vocal harmonies.
Ralph Tresvant sang lead. His voice sounded a lot like a young Michael Jackson, which is the sound they were going for. Tresvant was their lead singer in their early years.
The band members were between the ages of 13-15 when this came out.
This was New Edition's first hit, and it led to sudden fame and a long and turbulent journey for the band.

They did. New Edition covered the song too. Just like Jessica Simpson when she sang "Take My Braeth Away". That song was written by a oooooooold band. She just covered it again. But Candy Girl belongs to The Jackson 5.

Not sure if it the Jackson 5 recorded it --BUt I KNOW that New Edition DID record it in the early 80's. Hope this helps!

I hate that tv show friends its ******** stupid, I hate it, also that other show Malcolm in the middle, I hate reruns, I mean if the shows over, just get it over and done with right? fuckinng producers and tv stations I hate them!
