i have a business meeting (i'm a consultant) with a client in the financial services industry. i'm meeting with the cfo, and 2 svps of finance on friday. can i wear a suit without a tie to the meeting if i would normally wear slacks and a sportcoat or a suit with a tie? is a suit without a tie seen as any kind of fasion statement i may not want to make at a somewhat conservative firm?

if i were to wear a sportscoat and slacks, i wouldn't wear a tie. my boss will be there and he won't wear a tie either. and he'll probably just wear a sportscoat as will or clients.

Just be safe and wear the tie. They may take you as being to casual with them and not serious enough. Be safe , wear the tie!

I would include the tie. Its better to look the most proffesional then not specially since it is a business meeting.
