What would mean more to a lady, bringing home flowers just because it was a day where I felt that it was the right thing to do, or just because I followed suit and do things like that when the calender says I should like Valentine's Day?????

if you bring a rose home to me now and again i will feel great and know that it does not take a day created by someone to show that you appreciate me. bringing one home on valentines day under these conditions would make it even better

but

bringing one home only on that day only shows that you are following suit and it would worth nothing to me. one should not wait on valentines day to show their love and appreciation. As you say do it when you feel it is the right thing to do

You shouldn't need our advise about this. I'm sure that your lady would appreciate flowers any time and any day. It doesn't need to be a day that says you have to. If you have been thinking about a special person during the day then do what you want to do to make her happy. I just know you are a romantic other wise you wouldn't not have asked this question.

valentines day is nice, but its so much nicer to receive an unexpected gift like that. every so often my boyfriend brings me home a little something, like flowers or something he saw at a store that he thought i would like. surprises are the best! i dont make a big deal out of valentines day, we just go out to dinner. i feel like its sort of lame because everyone makes such a huge deal. i would prefer little things throughout the year

Unexpected surprises are generally far more appreciated than gifts for holidays, but most ladies expect a little something on holidays, too! :) V-day may be a cultural money-making opportunity for companies, but few people like to feel left out just because of that. After all, heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are sweet, and generally only available once a year /anyway/!

None bring flowers for the lady just because she deserves them for being a great lady regardless of the holiday.

Definitely bring home flowers just because. It shows that you think she's special enough do that. And it also shows that you aren't doing it as part of an obligation, that you want to do it for her. Sounds like your a great guy to me!!! Wish there more like you out there.

Depends on the gal you're with! If she's the type to expect flowers anyways do both options. If she's laid back and not worried about such displays of affection, then any day is a good day to show her you care.

BOTH- but getting flowers just because always makes me happier than getting flowers on a holiday when I expect them. BUT if your lady friend is anything like me, you should get her something less... traditional and something more personal to her or to you two.

Unexpected flowers are the best, or if you do that we may be wondering what the hell you did and why are you sucking up for it. lol But we expect flowers on Valentines day you'd be in trouble if we didn't get them.

Bringing flowers home on random days when you feel its right. Women love sweet suprises, it shows us that you're thinking about us during the day.
