No, but some of the other heirs might want to get an attorney to look things over if they feel the executor isn't acting in a fair and impartial manner towards all parties.
I was an only child, so when my mother passed I wore all the hats, so to speak. When my friend's mother died, there were 4 sisters and one of their husband's was made executor and it worked out fine, everyone played honest. Sometimes though greed takes over and then it gets ugly very quickly for all.

You can pull your own teeth. You can deliver your own baby. An executor can be his own attorney. But unless he knows what he is doing he's like to cause himself a lot of pain & deliver an abortion.
